Born in 1951, Vernon G. Baker received a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Vermont in 1973; a Master of Arts degree from Brown University in 1975; and a Doctor of Philosophy ABD (all but dissertation) from Brown University requirements completed in 1979. The Institute of Business and Finance conferred the designation of Certified Fund Specialist®(CFS®) on Mr. Baker in 1998, while The American College conferred the designation of Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) on Mr. Baker in 2002. In 2004 Mr. Baker also received the designation of Qualified Financial Planner (QFP) from the International Association of Qualified Financial Planners.
Mr. Baker is a founding member of BACH Investments Plus, LLC. He is also an Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative affiliated with the broker dealer Osaic Wealth Inc.
. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1984. Additionally, Vern has served in various community positions and is currently a member of the Board of Directors as well as the Board of Trustees of the Friendship Service Center of New Britain, Connecticut. He is also a member of the Lions Club, New Britain, Connecticut. He also serves as a member of the Investment Committee of the First Baptist Church, West Hartford, Connecticut.
Mr. Baker is the author of three books, numerous articles and reviews, and has served on the faculties of MIT, Brown University and The University of Massachusetts at Boston. Vern lives in New Britain, Connecticut with his wife the Reverend Katherine Fagerburg, Chaplain of Connecticut Baptist Homes, Inc., and their two children.
